Lawrence “Larry” E. Jordan

Lawrence “Larry” Jordan, age 67, of Kingston, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. He previously lived in Hamilton, Osborn, and Richmond, KS.

Larry was born on Sept. 15, 1950, in Garnett, KS, to Elliott E. and Leona Z. (Teters) Jordan. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, serving in both Germany and Vietnam. Larry worked as a truck driver, and also worked as a prison guard for the prison in Moberly, and Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, retiring from there in 2006.

He was raised in the Church of Christ. Larry loved to fish and enjoyed baking goodies to give away to friends and family. He was a very giving person asking for nothing in return.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Junior; and two sisters, Esther Betty and Martha.

On Aug. 26, 2006, he married Carol Miller in Kingston. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his six children, Jacob Jordan of Florida and Mike, Mark, Matthew, Melanie, and Merrill Jordan, all of Alabama; five step-children, David and William Barnett, Melissa and Mary Miller and Marsha Boothroyd; 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Gurtha McCrea of Ottawa, KS and Sharon Atchley of Scottsboro, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses. www.bramfuneralservices.com
