Lois Lorraine Pieper

Lois Lorraine Pieper, age 77, of Braymer, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Her family surrounded her with song and prayer as she passed into Glory.

Lois was born on Jan. 10, 1942, to Robert and Grace (McPherson) Fellers, in Independence. She grew up attending Grace and Glory Tabernacle in Kansas City. Lois gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of four and was dedicated to loving him and studying his Word her entire life.  When Gordon first saw Lois, he knew she was the one he would marry. Their courtship began when Gordon attended Grace and Glory Bible School. They married on June 11, 1960, within days of her graduation from Van Horn High School and his completion of Bible School. Their marriage was blessed with five children, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Lois was known for her decorated cakes, which were as delicious as they were beautiful. She made the wedding cakes for all of her children and most of her grandchildren. Although Lois was raised a city girl, she became a farm girl through and through as she ran the family dairy business for many years. She loved her Guernsey cows. Lois played the piano from an early age and learned the guitar later in life. One of the highlights of Lois’s life was her and Gordon’s trip to Israel in 1994. They also enjoyed traveling to Southern Gospel singing events and making new friends wherever they went. Lois loved the Lord above all else. She shared God’s word with all those she came in contact with. She looked and longed for the day she would see Jesus face to face.

Lois is survived by her husband, Gordon Pieper of Tinney Grove; children, Gloria and Donald Smith of Braymer, Loren and Karen Pieper of Braymer, Mark and Suzi Pieper of Richmond, and Christy and Daniel Robinson of Richmond; 13 grandchildren, Seth (Ashlee) Smith, Isaac (Sarah) Smith, Hannah (Kenneth) White, Meghan (Jordan) Johnson, Jesse (Lynsey) Pieper, Eli (Britney) Smith, Luke (Anndrea) Pieper, Cody Pieper, Caleb and (Brandy) Pieper, Madeline Pieper, Ashlyn (Challen) Sprinkle, Leah (Dawson) Dennis, and Dakota Pieper; brother, Paul Fellers (Hazel); and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lori Lorraine; great-granddaughter, Clara Johnson; and brother, Charles Fellers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Richmond Assembly of God Church. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will follow in Tinney Grove Cemetery south of Braymer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support the church camp that she looked forward to each year. They can be left at Thurman Funeral Home or mailed to Grace Christian Assembly, 2309 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City MO 64129. Please share your memories of Lois by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
