Louise Cecilia Smith

Louise Cecilia Smith, age 76, a resident of Kansas City, MO, a former resident of Braymer, passed away on Thurs., Jan. 27, 2022, at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City.

Louise was born the daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Ring) Lundstedt on Jan. 10, 1946, in Shenandoah, IA. She was a 1964 graduate of South Page High School, Page County, IA. She then received her Associates of Arts Degree from Clarinda Community College. Louise then attended Peru State College, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Lastly, she earned her Master’s Degree from Central Missouri State University of Warrensburg. Louise was united in marriage to Albert Smith on July 20, 1974, in Essex, IA. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2017. She taught High School English, and was then the Librarian at Braymer High School. She was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer where she was active in the Wednesday night children’s programs, and loved the Open Door Sunday School class. Louise enjoyed traveling. She believed it was more important to take her children places for experience, rather than buying them material items.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Albert.

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Smith of Kansas City, MO, Emily Smith of Lawson, ; one brother, Marvin Lundstedt and wife Joan of Fontanelle, IA; three sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Smith, Fern Heyde and husband Tom, and Marion Weatherd; nine nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Mon., Jan. 31, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Mon., Jan. 31, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Ford City Cemetery in King City, on Tues., Feb. 1, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Wednesday Night Children’s Program and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
