M. Blue Hawks

Mount Blue Hawks, age 89, of Cameron, MO, passed away on March 5, 2017.

Blue was born on Dec. 11, 1927, in Caldwell County near New York, to Francis and Rena (Riley) Hawks.

Blue was a 1944 graduate of Penney High School in Hamilton.

He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete Hawks; step great-grandson, Cylas Masters and a nephew, Phil Hawks.

On April 15, 1948, Blue married Letha Margarete Barron. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Linda (John) Hays of Monroe City, Dixie (David) Masters of Cameron, and Becky (Walt) Arnold of Cameron; son, Montie (Glenda) Hawks of Alexandria, VA; brother, Armour (Christine) Hawks of Gladstone; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Poland-Thompson Chapel in Cameron. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Cameron United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.polandthompson.com.
