Margie Abretta Vessar

Margie Abretta Vessar, age 85, of Cameron, MO, formerly of Forsyth and Hamilton, passed away on Feb. 5, 2020, at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Margie was born on Feb. 12, 1934, in Hamilton, to Roy and Cora (Galpin) Toon. She graduated from the Hamilton High School in 1951 and then attended business trade school. She worked in numerous grocery stores, including stores in Hamilton and Cameron. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, collecting dolls, reading, and crafts like needlepoint and sewing.

On Jan. 1, 1954, she married William A. Vessar in Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 1964. She was also preceded by her parents; son, Roger Vessar; and brother, Paul Toon.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Vessar of Parkville, Gary Vessar of Taneyville, and Connie Launius of Lockwood; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to Liberty Hospital Hospice.
