Martha Kay (Rose) Burns

Martha Kay (Rose) Burns, age 73, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer.

Martha was born the daughter of Norman F. and Wilma Frances (Bowles) Rose on Oct. 12, 1942, in Carroll County. She was united in marriage to Norman Russell Burns on Feb. 4, 1962, in Mandeville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2015. Martha worked for Southwestern Bell in Carrollton for one year. She then worked as a CNA and Med-Tech for Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer for many years. She was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer. Martha was a loving wife and loved her family very much. She enjoyed working in her garden and flower bed and canning. She loved the outdoors and camping.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzann Clevenger (Bobby) of Braymer and Nancy Maasdam (David) of Tina; two sons, Russell (Rusty) Burns (Heather) of Bosworth and Scott Burns of Braymer; eight grandchildren, Ryan Clevenger (Jamie) of Braymer, Amanda Sneed (Brandon) of Braymer, Steve Clevenger of Braymer, Stephanie Jones (Cohlby) of Tina, Brittany Horine (Brandon) of Rayville, Emily Maasdam of Tina, Emma Burns of Bosworth, and Kaitlyn Burns of Bosworth; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Carson Clevenger and Kacie Clevenger, all of Braymer, Addi and Zyler Jones of Tina and Kiah Potts of Tina; one brother, Robert Rose of Kingsville; and one sister, Jana Burdge of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; and one brother, Bill Rose.

Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Friday, Aug. 19, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martha Burns Memorial Fund, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.
