Milred "Maxine" Watkins
Mildred “Maxine” Watkins, age 95, a resident of Braymer, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home in Liberty.
Maxine was born the daughter of Chancy Caldwell and Susan (Floyd) Caldwell on June 29, 1926, in Polo. On June 6, 1947, she married Charles Edward Watkins in Braymer. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2010. She was a 1944 graduate of Braymer High School and she had a Bachelors of Education from Northwest Missouri State University. Maxine was a school teacher for 27 years in the Normandy School District, St. Louis.
Maxine is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Krohne and husband, Melvin, of Liberty, and Barbara Jo Withers and husband, Stephen Withers, Sr., of Attleboro, MA; daughter-in –law, Karen Watkins, one granddaughter, Renee Guyer and husband, Greg, five grandsons, Matthew Krohne and wife, Laura, Kyle Withers and wife, Diana, Stephen Withers, Jr. and wife, Ruthanne, Gregory Withers, and Christopher Watkins and wife, Sara, ten great-grand children, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, one son, Michael Watkins, and nine siblings.
Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer, Feb. 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to service time. Friends may call at The Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer, on Friday, Feb., 25, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer.
