Norman Hartford Byers

Norman Hartford Byers, age 90, of Cowgill, MO, entered eternal life April 19, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Norman entered this life June 27, 1925, the son of Jake and Blanch Byers in Cameron. On Nov. 1, 1976, he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Graham in Miami, OK. In 1976, Mr. Byers and his family moved to Cowgill and he opened up a repair shop there that is now run by his son, David Byers.

Nothing made Norman happier than to spend time with his family, creating smiles for other kids in the community and building things for people to enjoy.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ellen Powell, Minnie Hays, and Beatrice Rice; brothers, Nathan and Hans Byers; son, Norman Charles Byers; and daughter, Rose Ballard.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; a brother, Edward R. Byers of Barstow, CA; three sons, Edward R. Byers (Cheryl) of Phelan, CA; David Byers (Penny) of Cowgill, and Paul Byers of Harrisburg, PA; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren also survive Norman.

Norman’s wish was for there to be no services. Cremation is entrusted to Stith Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Polo.
