Opal E. Garrett

Opal E. Garrett, age 93, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on April 27, 2016, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. She had formerly lived in Spring Hill, KS.

Opal was born on March 31, 1923, in Winston, to Russell and Ina M. Reid Heldenbrand. She graduated from the Winston High School. She had worked in the past as an executive secretary at James Bell and Associates in Overland Park, KS, and later she and her husband owned and operated the Bailey Donut Shop and Restaurant and B & W Fashions in Hamilton.

She was married to her husband, Euel Bailey, from 1946 until his death in 1995. She married Bill Garrett in 2000 and he preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded by her parents; two brothers, Duane and Ronnie; and two sisters, Thelma and Audrey.

Survivors include her son, Dale Bailey of Dardenne Prairie; daughter, Jill Zeigenbein of Hamilton; brother, A.C. Heldenbrand of Cameron; sister, Doris Jean Creamer of Winston; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Memorials are suggested to the Caldwell County Nutrition Center. Online condolences may be left at www.bramfuneralservices.com.
