Orvil J. Mann

Orvil J. Mann, age 86, a lifelong resident of Mooresville, MO, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at his residence.

Orvil was born the son of Samuel Frank and Mabel Pearl (Allen) Mann on Oct. 14, 1930, in Mooresville. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School. He served in the US Army from 1947 until 1952. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Lou Williams on Nov. 9, 1951, in Chillicothe. She preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 2010. Orvil was owner/operator of Mann Construction for over 60 years. He enjoyed working, fishing, guitar playing and singing.

Survivors include one son, Mike Mann (Dorothy) of Mooresville; two daughters, Brenda Estabrook of Mooresville and Toi Swartz (Jeff) of Mooresville; one son-in-law, Ed Estabrook of Breckenridge; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and one brother, Otis Mann of Mooresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; daughter, Nancy Elliott; one brother-in-law, Terry Elliott; one sister, Elizabeth Dolan; and three brothers, Oscar, Otto, and Oran Mann.

Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Wednesday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe and/or the Mann Family Home in Mooresville on Tuesday, March 21, from noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to J.W. Hiel Transportation and Health Fund, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
