Pamela Rene Mercer

Pamela Rene Mercer, age 69, of Hamilton, MO, passed away at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home on July 22, 2018. She moved to Hamilton in 1992, and previously lived in Polo, Excelsior Springs and Gladstone.

Pam was born on Aug. 8, 1948, in Kansas City, to Harold and Norma Lee (Brown) Barker. She graduated from high school in Kansas City and was an excellent mother and homemaker.

Pam was a very active member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She was also active in the Hamilton schools, when her sons were younger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, David J. and Mavis Wetherington; and stepdaughter, Betty Lee Mercer. 

She married Jerry Mercer in Excelsior Springs in the spring of 1973. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include her sons, Travis (Stephanie) Mercer of Jacksonville, NC; Joshua (Kimberly) Mercer of Parker, CO; and Caleb (Ashley) Bardwell of Hamilton; stepchildren, Rudy Garcia, Katherine Wilson, and Sherri Lee Herman;

four grandsons, Dalton, Maximus, Wesson and Marshall; numerous step-grandchildren; and everyone who called her “Mom.”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church Family Life Center. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton United Methodist Church.
