Patricia Jean Adkison
Patricia Jean Adkison, age 86, of Hamilton, MO, passed away at her home and went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2017.
Patricia was born on March 15, 1931, in Cameron, to Tom and Dorothy (Stade) O’Connor. She was a long-time member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Polo High School in Polo, and attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. In addition to being a lifetime dairy farmer with her husband, Loren, she taught school at Oakland School, southwest of Cameron, and Liberty Bell in DeKalb County, served on the Hamilton School Board, and was a medical administrator for several years.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a true-blue Royals fan.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Loren; her parents; four brothers, Bill, Bernie, Bud and Bob; one sister, Carolyn; and one grandson, Cody Adkison.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Carter of Hamilton and Judy Hood of Keller, TX; four sons, Jim (Dee), David (Regina), John, and Dayrel (Chris), all of Hamilton; two sisters, Mary Lou (Bill) Matteson of Liberty and Margaret Cryer of Portage, WI; three brothers, David (Donna) O’Connor of Cameron, Mike (Elaine) O’Connor of Quinton, NJ, and Patrick (Pat) O’Connor of Kidder; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 7, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church Family Life Center. A visitation will be held Thursday evening, July 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Cameron Memory Gardens in Cameron.
