Patsy Ann Smith Huff

Patsy Ann Smith Huff, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, NM, passed away at home on Sat., Nov. 19, 2022. Born Nov. 16, 1940 in Braymer, she and her husband, Dick Huff formerly of Chillicothe, were married for almost 62 years. In the early years of their marriage, the family lived in San Francisco while Dick was working for the National Park Service. Construction assignments took them from the Pacific Coast to the Mississippi River and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. During these expeditions, Patsy worked as a secretary and made temporary homes in housing that sometimes was one step above a covered wagon.

Eventually, work brought the family to Santa Fe New Mexico where Patsy was proud of graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration from The College of Santa Fe.

After moving to Alamogordo, Patsy worked for Danley Construction and Ruidoso Paving running the Quality Control Labs. At home Patsy worked on her art and canning gifting friends and family with various items.

Patsy had a very kind heart adopting several stray cats. In perhaps an omen of things to come, her latest cat Howdy died only a short time ago.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) L. Huff and daughter Juanita Gail Huff Miller.
