Ramona June York Davis

Ramona June York Davis, age 79, of Polo, MO, passed away on Oct. 13, 2015, at Liberty Hospital. She was born on Dec. 29, 1935, in Worland, to Paul O’Neil York and Mercil Lea Hook.

Ramona will always be remembered by her family and friends as loving and full of laughter. She was deeply devoted to Jesus and her family near and far, and was so thankful for each and every one of them. She loved being able to see and communicate with them through her Facebook, and saved many photos they shared as well as sharing many of her old photos with family. Her love of music lives on through her son Sam and her talented musical family.

She was the person we could run to if we needed to talk or for a shoulder to cry on, because she had the gift of listening and understanding with a heart full of love. Her memory never faded and we all loved her endless stories of her life experiences, which she had many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hadley Elliott, and her parents, along with nine siblings.

She is survived by her children, Vickie McKinzie (Jim) of Polo, Sam Elliott and partner Susan Harrington of Moberly, and Peggy Binney of Polo. Ramona is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christina Lynn Mckinzie of Polo, Jaimie Renee McKinzie of Polo, James Paul McKinzie, Jr. of Kingston, Melinda Jo Sanders of Moberly, Melissa Ann Hall of Kingman, AZ, Charlotte Marie Elliott of Moberly, and Terra Michelle Brotheron of Independence; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild on the way. Ramona is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Hurtie of Springhill, KS, Mary Jo Wagner of Clinton, and Patricia Fike of AL and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to the Ramona Elliot Davis Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. A visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stith Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Polo. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, MO.
