Raymond “Ray” L. Shuman, Jr.

Raymond “Ray” L. Shuman, Jr., passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. He moved to Hamilton about two years ago and previously lived and was raised in the state of Utah.

Ray was born on Aug. 24, 1954, in Moatsville, WV, to Raymond L. Shuman, Sr. and Genalee (Freeman) Shuman. After he graduated from high school, he worked as a self-employed general contractor specializing in flood and fire restoration which he retired from.

He was a member of the Far West Ward, Caldwell County, and was a Boy Scout leader for over 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, and his family was his absolute pride and joy.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; sisters, Debbie and Tammy; and his grandson, Mahonri.

He married his wife, Margaret Peck in Salt Lake City at the LDS Temple on Aug. 19, 1977. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his children, Tiffani (Jarrin) Perry of Kidder, Raymond L. Shuman, III (Jackie) of South Jordan, UT, Melanie (Matt) Woodruff of Gunnison, UT, and Jared (Michelle) Shuman of Hamilton; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Naomi (John) White of West Jordan, UT and Terri Eckman of Cedar City, UT; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A private family-only graveside service will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, southeast of Hamilton. Friends may call at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
