Reverend John Benjamin Selleck

Reverend John Benjamin Selleck, age 80, of Braymer, MO, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. John was born on May 5, 1941, in Sayer, PA, the son of Jesse and Gertrude (Bierfreund) Selleck. He was united in marriage to Lorraine June Tripp of New York on Aug. 19, 1961. She preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 2019.

John was currently serving as the associate pastor at the Assembly of God Church in Richmond. Rev. John began his ministry while still in high school and had preached all over the country and served many churches over the years. John served small churches to mega churches, ghetto churches in New York City, and had held revivals in nearly all 50 states. For the past 20 years, he served at churches in Missouri including, Waverly, Gilman City, Orrick, and currently Richmond.

John enjoyed the country life living on his acreage south of Braymer at Tinney Grove. He was an animal lover who raised goats and enjoyed feeding the birds. He will be dearly missed by all his friends, especially his church family.

Survivors include two brothers, Walter (Marilyn) Selleck of Washburn and David Selleck of Clarion, PA; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and past parishioners of all the churches he served.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Ivan; and four sisters, Esther, Grace, Eva, and Mary.

A visitation was held with funeral services following on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at the Assembly of God Church in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date in Tinney Grove Cemetery, south of Braymer. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the children’s programs at the Assembly of God Church in Richmond.
