Robert “Bud” H. Pawsey

Robert H. “Bud” Pawsey, age 91, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on Feb. 1, 2018, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. Bud lived in Brookfield for two years and also in Nettleton.

Bud was born on April 29, 1926, in Nettleton, to J.T. and Mary Louise (Schoenberger) Pawsey. He was a 1944 graduate of the Hamilton High School. He left to serve in the Navy during World War II on his graduation day from high school, May 25, 1944. He enlisted on April 7, 1944, and was honorably discharged on June 4, 1946, after serving as a Navy Radarman third class.

Bud began work as a claims adjuster for MFA Insurance in 1956, and worked there for 19 years. In 1978 he and his wife, Shirley, owned and operated the ITCO farm supply store in Hamilton and worked there until his retirement 19 years later.

He was a member of the Hamilton American Legion Post #285.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents.

He and his wife, Shirley Pugh, were married on Dec. 17, 1950, at the Kidder United Methodist Church. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his daughter, Jan (Steve) Ulmer of Smithville; cousin, Paul R. Schoenberger of Colorado Springs, CO; and two granddogs, Baxter and Oaklee.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.
