Robert Paul Hawley

Robert Paul Hawley, age 82, of Hamilton, MO, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Hillcrest Manor.

Robert was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Hamilton to Cecil and Gertrude (Dunlap) Hawley.

He graduated from New York High School in 1951, Graceland University in 1953, and Central Missouri State University in 1955, where he met his wife Lucretia Schneider, whom he married Nov. 27, 1955. After serving two years in the Army (1956-1958), he returned to the Hamilton family farm. In 1966 he went to work for Cameron Mutual Insurance Company, retiring after 30 years of service.

Robert was a dedicated member of Hamilton Community of Christ Church, serving as pastor for 22 years. He was a member of the Hamilton Rotary and Lions Clubs.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed gardening and yard work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Edwin Hawley; and infant son, Thomas Andrew.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lucretia Marlene Hawley, of the home; children, James Owen Hawley of Hamilton, Kathleen Frances (Ted) Jeschke of Gladstone, and John Robert Hawley of Honolulu, HI; grandsons, Tyler and Ryan Jeschke of Gladstone; brother, Max Eugene Hawley of Hamilton; and sister-in-law, Nancy Hawley of Miami, OK.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2016, at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church (1009 S. Hughes St., Hamilton). Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Farwesta (5124 Faraon St., St. Joseph, MO 64506) or Graceland University in Lamoni, IA. Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.
