Ronnie James

Ronnie James, age 82, of Tipton, MO, passed away at his residence on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 2, 1938, in Albany, the son of Cecil Lee James and Dora (Hill) James, both of whom preceded him in death.

Ronald was a graduate of Braymer High School in 1956. He served in the US Air Force directly out of high school as an aircraft mechanic. Ronald was united in marriage on Feb. 20, 1958, in Braymer, to Rose Mary (Shannon) James who survives of the home. He attended the Fortuna Baptist Church. Ronald worked as a bricklayer and owned his own company called R.L. James Masonry for 17 years and retired from Dinwiddie Construction. He enjoyed coon hunting, raising champion coonhounds, woodworking, and being with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Lee James (Annie Drennan) of Tipton and Danny James (Lori Martin) of Clarksburg; two daughters, Keely James (Joe Brown) of Clarksburg and Anna Diggs (Aaron) of Tipton; one brother, Cecil Clay James of Braymer; one sister, Florence Arnold of Stet; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one brother; one sister; and one grandson, Ronnie Fowler.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., with a celebration of life immediately following at the Fortuna Baptist Church. Officiating will be Lowin Dinwiddie. Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, c/o the funeral home. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date at Sappington Cemetery near Clarksburg. Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks are suggested.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.
