Ruby Ilene Anderson

Ruby Ilene Anderson, age 88, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.

Ruby was born the daughter of Chancy and Susan (Floyd) Caldwell on Nov. 17, 1931, in Cowgill. She was a 1949 graduate of Mirabile High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Northwest Missouri State College. She was united in marriage to Melvon Anderson on May 28, 1954. They celebrated 60 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.

Ruby started her teaching career at Monarch country school and Forbes school. She then moved into the South Holt R-1 school district for 30 years. She was a member of the Braymer United Methodist Church, Order of The Eastern Star, Oregon Chapter 416, United Methodist Women, Tuesday Study Club, PEO Chapter Q, and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her children, Brenda (Ralph) Kehr of Meadville and Terry (Lynn) Anderson of Oregon, MO; son-in-law, Stan Kee of Carrollton; seven grandchildren, Cory (Kelly) Kee of Carrollton, Stacy (Stephen) Kinstler of Kearney, Randy (Kristen) Mendenhall of Oregon, Heidi (Jesse) Smith of Carrollton, Skyler (Jessica) Anderson of Oregon, Shane (Brooke) Anderson of Oregon, and Scott (Nichole) Anderson of Oregon; three step-grandchildren, Tina (Brian) Wheeler of Parkville, Tony (Beth Ann) Kehr of Shelby, and Tim (Shawna) Kehr of Springfield; 19 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Watkins of Braymer.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvon; daughter, Debra Kee; son-in-law, Thomas Mendenhall; six brothers, Leslie Caldwell, Leland Caldwell, Charles Caldwell, Floyd Caldwell, Kenneth Caldwell, and Harold Caldwell; and two sisters, Violet Roadcap and Delores Harrell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 4:00 p.m., at the Braymer United Methodist Church in Braymer. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until service time. Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 2, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer. Burial will be held at McBee Chapel Cemetery in Braymer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer United Methodist Church and/or McBee Chapel Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P. O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
