Ruth Ann Russell
Ruth Ann Russell, age 88, of Excelsior Springs, MO, formerly of Hamilton and Skidmore, passed away on Aug. 12, 2017, at the Excelsior Springs hospital.
Ruth was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Hopkins, to Edgar and Opal Williams. She graduated from high school and attended beauty school. She was a hard working homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church and the Hamilton American Legion Auxiliary.
Ruth loved working on the farm and kept the cleanest barn. She also enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities, sewing, gardening, reading, and putting together puzzles.
On March 14, 1948, she married John E. Russell in Vallejo, CA. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Ruth was also preceded by her parents and three sisters, Flo Martin, Mary Thompson and Joyce Bufkin.
Survivors include her sister, Jean (Ed) Stewart of Discovery Bay, CA; children, Mike (Mary) Russell of Lawson and Terri (Mike) Lee of Blue Springs; four grandchildren, Kogan (Lauren) Lee, Kolby (Angie) Lee, Abbey (Richard) Hussey, and Tony (Danielle) Russell; and seven great-grandchildren, Jadon, Adalynn, Jayme, Gwen, Owen, Hudson and Paxton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
