Shirley Jean Elam

Shirley Jean Elam, age 81, of Mosby, Mo., formerly of Hamilton, Kingston, Lawson and Elmira, passed away at her son’s home in Mosby on Oct. 15, 2016.

Shirley was born on June 24, 1935, in Kingston. She had retired from Treadger Plastic Factory in Excelsior Springs.

She married Bobbie Elam on Aug. 23, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded by her parents; daughter, Anita; and sister, Clara Sackman.

Survivors include her children, Larry Elam of Warsaw, Carol Weekley of Fort Worth, TX, and Tom Elam of Mosby; sisters, Ruth Gifford of Kingston and Bonnie Prier of Raymore; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Elmira Cemetery in Elmira.
