Shirley L. Donnelson Robison
Shirley L. Donnelson Robison, age 91, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on Jan. 16, 2020, at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton. Shirley previously lived in Kansas City, retired to Kidder in 1985, and then later moved to Hamilton in 1994.
Shirley was born on May 27, 1928, in Ogdensburg, NY to Major General Henry R. Paige, retired U.S. Marine Corp. and Gladys “Mary Louise” Brundage. She attended college and was an elementary teacher at the St. Gabriel’s parochial school in Kansas City. Later she worked and very much enjoyed her job as a library aide for 15 years for the Oak Park High School in North Kansas City.
She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Bridge Club, the Pollyanna Quest Club, and the Hamilton Library Board. She loved to read and play bridge and she traveled extensively and lived in many locations. She was active in Sunday school at her church and also sang in many musicals.
In 1948, she married Milford (Don) Donnelson and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded by her parents and a sister and brother.
She married Gerald Robison in 1995 and he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include her daughters, Judy Donnelson of Kansas City, Debby (Bill) Ford of Hamilton, and Kathryn L. (David) Schmalz of Kansas City; five granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Marquand of Carlsbad, CA; stepson, Gregg (Julie) Robison of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A memorial service will be held on Jan. 25, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hamilton United Methodist Church sanctuary in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hamilton Public Library. Inurnment will be at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.
