Thomas Robert Reedy, Jr.

Thomas Robert Reedy, Jr., age 78, of Kidder, MO, joined the Lord on Oct. 4, 2020. He lived in Kidder for the past 20 years and previously lived in Denver, CO.

Thomas was born on March 30, 1942, in Nevada, MO, to Thomas R. Reedy, Sr. and Frances Marie (Burris) Reedy. He attended the Walker School in Walker. Thomas worked as a mechanic for Chrysler in Denver, CO, and also was a truck driver. He was a member of the Kidder Baptist Church.

Thomas lived his life in kind service and help to friends and loved ones. Thomas was the kind of man who enjoyed mechanical and carpentry work. He was able to see the country through his work as an over the road truck driver and took pride in his ability to help those he cared for. Thomas always had a smile and a hand for those around him. Thomas loved to camp with the vacation bible school in the mountains of Colorado and driving the church bus in his earlier days. He was very involved in his community and church. Thomas was a member of the County Road Board for the city of Kidder, which he continued through his later years until he passed. He also loved his faithful friend Apollo who he would take for walks to the garden daily.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his grandchildren, Conner Reece Cornell and Kimberly Dawn Reedy; and his brother, Jerry Lee Reedy.

Thomas married Virginia Mae Waltrip on June 30, 1964, in Mt. Vernon. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his children, Robert Daniel Reedy (Yevette) and son Gustyn, Thomas Dwayne Reedy (Pollyanna) and children Leah and Michael; Darlene Lynette Smith (Philip) and children, Phil Jr., Tiffany (Dan), Syndee, Danielle (Ryan), Abigale (Alex), and Rachel (Thomas); and Alison Janelle Cornell and children Ryder (Paige), Jesse, and Patrick; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Kidder Baptist Church. There is no formal scheduled visitation. Interment will be at the Kidder Cemetery in Kidder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.
