Victor Edwin “Ed” Broyles

Victor Edwin “Ed” Broyles, age 78, of Hamilton, MO, formerly of Kingston and San Pablo, CA, passed away on Feb. 11, 2016, at the Mosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph.

Ed was born on Sept. 3, 1937, in Kansas City, to Merle and Lydia Patricia (Kirsch) Broyles. He served our country in the U.S. Army shortly after the Korean Conflict. He had worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the American Legion.

Ed was a sponsor for drivers at the I35-Speedway and enjoyed racing very much.

Ed married Mary Jane Ambrose on July 16, 1959, in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents and his sister, Patricia.

Survivors include his son, Arthur Broyles of Omaha, NE; daughter, Jane Colatrella of Hamilton; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, at the Hopewell Cemetery northeast of Sedalia. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
