Virginia Alta Pruessner

Virginia Alta Pruessner, age 99, of Hamilton, passed away at her home, after a brief illness, in Hamilton on Jan. 8, 2023. 

Virginia was born on April 25, 1923, to Rolla and Emma (Campbell) Houts.  She attended school in Calhoun, and graduated in 1941.  On Oct.28, 1942, she married Wyatt Pruessner.  They resided in Kansas City, and also lived in Kingsville, and Elm Springs.  The couple moved to Hamilton in 1965 with Wyatt accepting a job as pastor of the Hamilton Baptist Church.  Virginia worked at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton.

Virginia loved spending time with her family.  She was an adored grandmother affectionately known as Mom, Grandma and Grandma Gin.  Virginia enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing cards with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wyatt, brothers-Fred Dickinson, Monroe Houts and Ted Houts, and sisters-Betty Ferril and Barbara Hightower.  

Survivors include her children Judy Korach (John) of Hamilton; and Jerry Pruessner (Sheila) of Lake of the Ozark.; five grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service were held at 11 a.m., Fri., Jan. 13, 2023, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m., 1 hour prior to the service, at the funeral home on Friday. 

Interment is located at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.

Memorials can be made to The Caldwell County Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.
