Vivian Misenhelter

Vivian Misenhelter, age 97, of Richmond, MO, died Monday, Mar. 13, 2017, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Vivian was born on Dec. 2, 1919, in Nettleton, to Jasper and Carrie (Weldon) Bowers. She married Leonard J. Misenhelter of Nettleton on Nov. 8, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1978.

Vivian was a homemaker. She worked at Mattingly’s for 25 years and at Mode-O-Day for six years, both in Richmond. She was of the Baptist faith. She lived in Richmond most of her life. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, and she loved to bake.

Survivors include two sons, Jim (Lana) Misenhelter and Bill (Susie) Misenhelter, both of Richmond; two daughters Lorraine (John) Smith of Independence, and Nancy E. (Larry) Paul of Albany; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Misenhelter, Jeffrey and Takeena Misenhelter, Brian Smith and Karina Rosine, Leslie Ann Wolf, Aaron Misenhelter and Lori Lucas, Steven and Randi Williams, Vincent and Mandy Green, Kathy and Robert Beaird, Laurie and Steve McGee, Kathy and David Cavaleri, Kerry and Dawn Paul, Mary Beth and Chris Schneider and Randy and Teresa Paul; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shirkey Hospice in Richmond. Online condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
