Will ( Billy Ray) Hopkins

Will (Billy Ray) Hopkins, age 74 of Kingston, passed away on Nov. 14, 2021, at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. 

He moved to Kingston in 1977 and previously lived in Laramie, WY, and Milwaukee, OR.  

Bill was born on Sept. 7, 1947, in Laramie to Ray L. and Mary Dorthea (Jewell) Hopkins.  He graduated from the Laramie High School in 1965, and then attended the Lubbock Christian College in Lubbock, Texas, for a year.  In 1970 he married Teresa Kim Olsen in Sheridan, Wyoming.  They divorced in 2011.

Bill worked as an auto mechanic, carpenter, and also formerly worked for Everett Quarries.  He attended barber school and worked in Hamilton cutting hair at Mansland alongside Bill Downey. He later bought the shop from Bill and it was renamed Billy Ray's Barber Shop, which he retired from. 

Bill was a long-time member of the Lakeview Golf Course in Hamilton where he enjoyed golfing all that he could and playing cards.  He also did many various volunteer jobs at the golf course to help the course save on expenses.

Preceding Billy Ray in death were his parents, sister-Martha Craven; brother-George Hopkins; two nephews-Casey Craven and Ray L. Jackson; and a niece-Jill Horton.

Survivors:  Ex-wife-Kim Hopkins of Kingston; Sons-Cory Hopkins of Hamilton, and Brandon Hopkins of Kingston; Sisters-Alma Faye Kennedy (Roger) of San Angelo, TX; and Mary Ann Garman (Greg) of Cheyenne, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 21, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakeview Golf Course.
