William Holtzclaw

William “Billy” Holtzclaw, age 82, a long time resident of Excelsior Springs, MO, died Friday, Oct. 30 at Liberty Hospital.

Billy was born July 11, 1938, in Elmira to Charles and Burnice (Fields) Holtzclaw. He worked in auto repair most of his career, and prior to that as a farmer. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing the fiddle and studying old time fiddle music.

Billy leaves behind two sons, David Holtzclaw of Platte City and Mark Holtzclaw (Stacy) of Kansas City; and a daughter, Becky Evans (Billy) of Excelsior Springs. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert “Bob” Holtzclaw (Lois) of Lincoln, MO; and two sisters, Dixie Klinginsmith (Wayne) of Chillicothe and Wanda McElwee (Bill) of Braymer.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, John Holtzclaw of Paola, KS, Larry Holtzclaw of Hardin, Charles “Jr” Holtzclaw of Modina, and Wilbur “Wayne” Holtzclaw of Excelsior Springs.
