Wilma Maxine Potts

Wilma Maxine Potts, age 88, of Hamilton, MO, passed away at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton on Sept. 22, 2018. She lived in Hamilton most of her life.

Maxine was born on Jan. 8, 1930, in Pattonsburg, to Leonard and Opal (Browning) Ahart. She graduated from the Hamilton High School in 1947.

She married Bernard Potts on Dec. 10, 1949, in Hamilton at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1993. Maxine was also preceded by her parents; her son, Barney in 2006; and her brother, Harold Ahart.

Maxine was a homemaker and worked with Bernard as co-owner of Man’s Land Clothing Store & Barber Shop in the 1980s in Hamilton.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula (Randy) Pickering of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Nicki (Casey) Tapp and Jamie (Tim) Ayers and two great-grandchildren, Auburn Tapp and Miles Ayers, all of Hamilton; and four nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Three Rivers Hospice or the Hamilton United Methodist Church. www.bramfuneralservices.com
