Gun Control
Fellow Americans,
President Barack Hussein Obama has declared war……on guns. Not on violence, but on guns. He claims there are too many shootings and something must be done. For once I agree! We must act against the shooter, not the weapon. Many Washington bureaucrats wrongly believe that guns are the problem. They’ve tried for years to ban personally owned firearms, stating more laws equals fewer guns equals less violence. Consider the following:
· The National Firearms Act of 1934 was aimed at mafia gangsters. The law banned fully-automatic weapons (machine guns), but did it stop the mob?
· The Gun Control Act of 1968 vastly increased the authority of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) by imposing strict gun sale regulations, but did that end gun violence?
· The Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 sought to restrict “military style” weapons and “large capacity” magazines. Did this reduce the number of killings?
President Obama is not included in the above-mentioned group of bureaucrats. He and other “elites” don’t care about the victims of gun violence as long as the shootings can be exploited to push for stricter gun regulations. That’s because they hate the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. More specifically, they hate the way the Constitution restricts THEM, not US. You see, it is all about CONTROL. If Obama was serious about ending gun violence and saving lives, wouldn’t he focus on inner city gangs? Don’t black lives matter? Instead, he demonizes gun makers and private, law-abiding citizens. Does Obama realize we are better able to defend ourselves and our neighbors if armed? Yes, but he doesn’t care because the ends justifies the means!
I believe Obama and other Washington elites are fearful of an armed citizenry; fearful that We, the People, may someday rise up against them like we did in 1776! Our founders knew how tyrannical governments threatened individual liberty. Adolf Hitler also knew it, which was why he confiscated all personally-owned firearms from Jewish citizens in Germany before murdering them by the millions! Friends, let me be clear. I do not advocate violence toward our government. Nor do I advocate being blindly led to slaughter! Please do your own homework and learn from history, so that we may be prepared to defend ourselves and our Republic against all enemies, foreign or domestic!
