Pardon Me

Fellow Americans,

The U.S. Constitution gives the president the authority to grant full pardons or to commute the sentences of anyone convicted of a federal crime. These acts do not need Congressional approval and cannot be undone by another president. George Washington granted 16 pardons during his two terms as president. In Barack Hussein Obama’s two terms as president, according to Department of Justice statistics (www.justice.gov), he has pardoned 212 people and commuted the sentences of 1,711 others! The majority of these people were convicted of embezzlement, mail fraud, wire fraud, tax evasion, drug distribution, money laundering, and firearm violations. Among the most notable recipients of Obama’s kindness were:

·   Bradley Manning AKA Chelsea Elizabeth Manning: a U.S. Army soldier convicted in 2013 for violations of the Espionage Act. He/she received a prison sentence of 35 years for releasing classified information which put American and allied resources at risk. Manning, by way of the ACLU, sued the Department of Defense in 2014 for refusing to allow him/her to grow out his/her hair, wear cosmetics, and take hormone treatments. In 2016, Manning attempted suicide and then went on a hunger strike until the Army conceded at the taxpayers’ expense! Obama commuted Manning’s sentence, allowing him/her to be released from prison in May of 2017.

·   Oscar Lopez-Rivera: a member of the Puerto Rican terrorist group Fuerzas Armadas de Liberacion Nacional (F.A.L.N.) which was responsible for over 100 bombings in the United States in the 1970s and 1980s which killed and injured Americans. He was convicted in 1981 and received a prison sentence of 55 years. While in prison, he attempted an escape which added 15 years to his sentence. Obama commuted Lopez-Rivera’s sentence, allowing him to be released from prison in May of 2017.

Not to be overlooked are the Islamic terrorists held at the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. There were 242 detainees at GITMO when Obama took office in 2009. Today there are 41. We used to gain valuable information from those “detainees” until Obama outlawed water-boarding. It is suspected that up to 30% of those released from GITMO return to the battlefield.

Now that Obama is finally gone (HOORAY!), let’s work together to repair the damage of the

last eight years. Please, do your own homework, educate others, and pray for our nation. May

God bless you and the United States of America!
