Hard loss for the Hornets against the S. Harrison Bulldogs
The Penney High Hornets began their season on the road at Bethany where they faced the South Harrison Bulldogs in a non-conference, but highly anticipated football game.
Hamilton received the opening kickoff, but were forced to punt after three offensive plays. Likewise, South Harrison went three and out, but the Bulldogs punt was downed at the Penney High 1 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Bethany tackled Hamilton quarterback Jaran Richman in the end zone for a 2-point safety. After Mason McFall's punt, Bethany started their next possession on their own 47 yard line. With 6:20 left on the first quarter clock, defensive back Jaran Richman intercepted the Bulldog pass at the Penney 40 yard line. During this possession, the Hornets were able to register a first down on a pass from Richman to Telly Harper, another first down on a run by Korby Ford, and a third on a pass completion to Telly to end the first quarter.
