Small School Scores Big

Cowgill Ranks in the top 7% in the State

Betty Vassmer, Superintendent of the Cowgill Elementary School District, is proud to announce that it is one of the 35 School Districts out of 521 that earned 100% on the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Annual Performance Report.

MSIP 5 is designed to distinguish performance of schools and districts in a valid, accurate and meaningful way so that those in need of improvement can receive appropriate support and interventions while high-performing districts can be recognized as models of excellence. The APR is comprised of scores for each of the MSIP 5 Performance Standards: academic achievement, subgroup achievement, high school readiness, attendance rate, and graduation rate.

“The overall results of the 2015 Cowgill R-VI School District APR is one more example of the district’s commitment to continuous improvement over the last five years. The District prides itself in teaching to the needs of each child,” said Betty Vassmer, superintendent.

Cowgill Elementary attributes this achievement to talented students, exceptional staff, and a supportive community. The Board recognized the hard work of all students and staff by presenting the school with a plaque and hosted a popcorn and glow in the dark dance while teachers celebrated by leaving early for the day.
