Bobcats take third at Gallatin Tourney

The third place game proved to be a very exciting game.

Miller scored first with a 3. The teams exchanged leads most of the first quarter. Gallatin led at the end of one 9 to 8.

Braymer went ahead by 3 with a little under 3 minutes played in the second quarter. Gallatin came back and tied the game with 4 min. left. Shoe drove in a lay-up from the sideline and Hall shot a free-throw to pull ahead. Gallatin shot a 3 to tie it back up. A reverse lay-up from Hall put the Cats ahead with 17 seconds left and that's how the half would end.

After half, Gallatin had possession and promptly went down and scored to tie the game back up. Braymer's Hall answered with 2 buckets in a row to put the Cats up by 4. With a turn over on the Cats side and offensive rebounding, Gallatin tied the ballgame with a little over 4 min. left in the quarter. T. O'Dell put us back ahead with a swished basket, then had an offensive rebound and put back with a foul for an old-fashioned 3 play. Gallatin scored, but Hall hit and Miller swished a 3 and then drove in to put the Cats back up by 10. Gallatin got an old-fashioned 3 to get back within 7 and then scored 2 more free-throws. Hall answered with a shot, but Gallatin swished a buzzer beater 3 to decrease the lead to 4 at the end of the quarter.

K. O'Dell came out and swished a 3 to up the lead to 7 for the Cats in the fourth quarter. Gallatin put in a couple of free-throws to lessen the lead. Hall put it in, but the Bulldogs answered with a 3. Braymer missed and Gallatin came within 2. Miller took charge and swished a 3. Then Rogers followed the lead and stole the ball, and Shoe was fouled.  Shoe then put the 2 free shots in to up the lead by 7. Miller added 2 to make the lead 9. A foul and free-throws made on the other end put Gallatin closer, but with 49 seconds left, Gallatin had to foul. Missed free-throws and a bucket on the other end, brought the Bulldogs within 5 again. A turn over on our end gave Gallatin a chance to shorten the lead even more. A missed shot and then a foul let Rogers swish 2 free-throws. Rogers then stole the ball and was fouled. He put one free-throw in to cinch the deal. The Bulldogs raced down and swished a 3 , but time ran out. Braymer won the game 50 to 45.

This was a good, hard fought game from both teams. Leaders: Points: Hall 20, Miller 13, T. O'Dell 5, Shoe 4, K. O'Dell and Rogers with 3, Atherton 2. Rebounds: Hall 9, Miller 5, K. O'Dell and Rogers with 3, Shoe 2 and T. O'Dell with 1. Assist: Miller 3, Atherton, Shoe and K. O'Dell with 2, Hall and Rogers with 1. Steals: Rogers 3, Miller and Shoe 1. Blocks: Hall and Miller with 1. Deflections: Hall and Miller with 1.
