Braymer Bobcats, the District 16 Champs

After two rain postponements District 16 playoffs were played May 18 and 19 in Burlington Junction.

The Bobcats had drawn a bye so they played their first game in round two against the West Nodaway Rockets. Gabe Rogers was at the plate for the Bobcats. The Rockets opened the first inning with 2 runs on errors. The Bobcats came back to tie the game up with 2 runs, one when Gabe was driven in by a sacrifice fly by Jordan Miller and the other by Logan O'Dell who reached base on a walk and stole second, moved to third on a sacrifice fly and then came home on a single hit by Drake Parker. The Rockets did not score again. The Bobcats scored 3 runs in the second, 5 in the fourth, and 2 in the fifth to end the game 12 to 2 with no outs in the inning. 

Gabe pitched 6 strike outs and had no earned runs. Logan, Jordan, and Drake each had 2 RBIs and Keaton had 1.

Bobcats face North Nodaway

The final game of district play had the Bobcats facing the North Nodaway Mustangs. Jordan Miller was the Bobcat pitcher for the night throwing a shutout game. He struck out a total of 7. The Bobcats were off to a slow start until the third inning when Paul Atherton was put out on a fielder's choice allowing Colin McCulley to reach base. He was then driven in on a double by Gabe Rogers. In the fourth inning, Logan O'Dell got on from an error and came home on a fielders choice. In the seventh inning Drake Parker and Jake Gladieux were able to come home on a double by Paul. Paul had 2 RBIs and Gabe and Robbie Shoe each had 1.

The District 16 Champions are now ready to start State playoffs at Braymer's Anderson Field on May 23rd against the Macon County team.
