Braymer Bobcats lose to Albany

Braymer played Friday night and for once the weather was good. No rain or storms hindered the game. Only injuries still plague the Bobcats.

Braymer received the ball to start and unfortunately turned the ball over on downs. Albany capitalized on the short field advantage and was able to score and get the 2 point conversion. Braymer answered and got down to the 2 yard line after a 26 yard run by K. O'Dell. R. Shoe was able to run the 2 yard touchdown in. Albany got right back in the game with another touchdown. Braymer unfortunately had a holding penalty and then a fumble that Albany recovered to stop the next drive. With another touchdown and 2 point conversion, Albany went up 22 to 6. Braymer couldn't get the momentum flowing our way and turned the ball over on downs on our 28 for Albany. Braymer held them for 3 downs, but Albany was able to run the touchdown in again.

Half-time found the Cats down 28 to 6. Albany received the kick-off to start the third quarter and once again scored. Braymer saw another starter side-lined for the half. On the next drive Albany intercepted a pass on Braymer's 34 yard line. Albany then got another touchdown from a 26 yard pass reception. Braymer started on the 20 yard line for the next drive. Albany defense stopped the Cats and  Shoe punted 65 yards to the 4 yard line. But wait, Albany got a holding penalty and that was enough for a Bobcat 1st down. Braymer gained some momentum from this and D. Jeffers caught a 7 yard pass from Shoe in the end zone for a Braymer touchdown. Albany was able to score one more time and the game ended with a 58 to 12 victory for them.

Top players: O'Dell had 25 passing yards, Shoe had 128 rushing yards and Henderson had 9 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. Offense: Shoe with 7 passing yards, O'Dell had 26 rushing yards, Henderson with 25 and Adams with 19. Jeffers had 1 touchdown reception. Defense: Shoe had 7 tackles, Adams and Ryals with 6, Hedrick 5, T. O'Dell 4, Jeffers and Olsen with 3 and K. O'Dell with 1.
