Braymer Bobcats win home opener

The gym was fairly full on both sides. Seems like everyone was ready to get this season started. Braymer and Tina-Avalon boys did not disappoint the crowd. It was a hard fought battle from both sides.

Coach Brad Cox and the Braymer Bobcats saw the Dragons hitting a 3 to get on the board first. Tina-Avalon proceeded to keep the lead at the end of the first quarter going up 15 to 14.

Coach Cox's strategy of  full court pressure got the Bobcats back in the game. Coach Cox has a strong bench to pull from to keep the pace up. Jordan Miller led at half with 19 points for the Cats and Logan O'Dell had 13.

Braymer went up 37 to 35 at half. Tina-Avalon went into half with a couple of players in foul trouble and not too many reserve players on the bench.

The third quarter was a back and forth battle with Braymer maintaining the lead at 51 to 48. The Dragons had 2 players foul out early in the 4th quarter. Braymer had some foul trouble too with J. Miller fouling out. Logan O'Dell led the charge in the second half with 20 points to help the Bobcats take the game in the end 71 to 65.

Nice job on both sides. Unfortunately, Braymer's W. Phillips was injured in this game. Braymer is already missing A. Hall. Healing wishes to both these players. A good game to get this season started. The Bobcats travel to Gallatin Monday night to start play in the Gallatin tournament. Good luck Bobcats.

L. O'Dell finished the night with 33, J. Miller followed closely with 29, J. Dudley had 5, J. Gates had 3 and G. Rogers had 1. Rebound leaders were: O'Dell and Miller with 9, Dudley with 3,  Gates with 2 and  Atherton and Shoe with 1. Steal leaders were O'Dell and Miller with 5, Dudley and Shoe with 2 and Gates and Rogers with 1. Assist leaders were L. O'Dell with 3, Montoya, Phillips and K.  O'Dell with 2 and Miller and Dudley with 1.
