Braymer defeats Pattonsburg

Braymer traveled to Pattonsburg Friday night. Once again storms were brewing in the whole football area, but Braymer rode the eye of the storm to a victory this Friday. Braymer started out early in this game taking control. Braymer lost the coin toss and had to kick to Pattonsburg. Braymer stopped the drive and got the ball. Ryan Atherton scored the first touchdown for the Cats on a 43 yard run. The 2 point conversion was no good. Pattonsburg was cut short on their next possession with an interception by Charlie Henderson. Keaton O'Dell ran in the next 4 yard touchdown. Braymer's defense was on fire and Pattonsburg had to punt.

Braymer's offense didn't convert on this possession and turned the ball over on downs.  At the end of the first quarter, Braymer was up 12 to 0. Braymer's defense held strong after the quarter and stopped Pattonsburg in the red zone. Braymer's Atherton and Shoe brought the ball out to mid-field. Braymer fumbled and recovered the ball for a loss, but with a pass from O'Dell to Atherton made up the lost yards. Robbie Shoe was then able to run for a 29 yard touchdown. Pattonsburg once again had to punt, and Braymer was able to capitalize with a 2 yard touchdown run by Henderson. O'Dell ran in the 2 point conversion. Braymer went into half up 26 to 0.

The Bobcats received the ball to start the third quarter and promptly marched the ball down and K. O'Dell was able to run in a 1 yard touchdown. Unfortunately, 2 of the Bobcats were on the sideline at this point with injuries. Pattonsburg was able to score for the first time on their first drive down the field. The 2 point conversion was good. Braymer was stopped on downs. Pattonsburg capitalized again and on the 3rd play of the drive was able to score a touchdown. Pattonsburg then tried an on-side kick and recovered the ball. Once again, Pattonsburg scored a touchdown. The score was now 32 to 20.

Braymer received the ball and was able to score with a run by K. O'Dell. This put the Cats up 38 to 20. Pattonsburg made it in the end zone, but was called back for a holding penalty. Braymer got the ball by an interception by D. McElwee, but then proceeded to fumble. Braymer was able to stop Pattonsburg on downs. The final score was 38 to 20.

Offensive leaders: K. O'Dell passed for 32 yards. R. Shoe had 103 rushing yards. Defensive leader: J. Gates had 23 tackles. Rushing yards: Atherton 78, K. O'Dell 71, Gates 17, Henderson 2. Tackles: K. O'Dell 8, McElwee 7, Atherton 6, T. O'Dell 4, Ryals 3, Shoe, Henderson and Hedrick with 2, Adams and Jeffers with 1, 1 interception by Henderson and McElwee.
