Polo bests South Harrison 52-0

Once again, I believe that we took a step forward this week in our understanding and ability to do our assignment on each down in the best way possible. Our Defensive effort  was outstanding and will continue to be an emphasis each week at practice through competition for playing time on Friday’s. We still have room to improve and had a few alignment issues throughout the game; however, each week we are cutting down on the mistakes. The defense and special teams gave us a short field virtually all night and we were able to capitalize on it. Each week in the conference will be a grind, so each week we will continue to do our best to be prepared for what we face.

Offensive: Gunnar Martin: 13 carries 201 yds, 7 td’s, 1 pat run; Patrick Covey: 2 carries 36 yds; Drake Burton: 6 carries 28 yds; Wyatt Curp: 2 carries 28 yds.

Defensive: Drake Burton: 14 tackles, 1 sack; James Fleener: 10 tackles; Wyatt Segar: 9 tackles; Alex Scott:  8 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 sacks; Nick Myers: 7 tackles, 1 sack; Gunnar Martin: 4 tackles, 2 sacks.
