Polo vs. Braymer Boys

Grand River Conference foes from Caldwell County faced off in the Consolation semi-finals of the Hamilton Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night, and the Bobcats got the best of the Panthers 52-34.

The game was up for grabs at the half as Braymer held a 26-24 lead after leading 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Bobcats poured it on in the third period, out scoring the Panthers 15-5, and continued to increase their lead on the way to a 52-34 victory.

Polo was led in scoring by James Fleener's 13 points followed by Jesse Vaughan with 8, Parker Smith's 7, and 2 each for Gage Aubrey, Cole Bartlett, and Jason Thompson. Vaughan made two 3-pointers and Smith 1. The Panthers hit 1 of 3 free throws. Braymer's Logan O'Dell was the games leading scorer with 18, followed closely by Jordan Miller who had 17. Jacob Dudley was next at 9, Ryan Atherton made 4, and Jason Gates and Robbie Shoe each scored 2 points for the Bobcats. Miller hit three from behind the arc, O'Dell 2, and Dudley 1. Braymer made 8 of 18 free throws.
