Dear Editor:

I found it rather interesting this week when I made my almost daily trip from Kingston to Hamilton that the Medthodist church parking lot was filled to the brim and over flowing on Tuesday May 23.  I thought at first that it must be a huge wedding or funeral, and when I stopped two women on the street was informed (by these out of towers) that it was a huge quilting seminar/convention lasting two days that had around 35 sewing professionals attending and about 700 sewers!

Thinking I must have missed the notice in your paper about it I grabbed my last two issues to find nothing at all regarding this event!  Now, it would seem to me that this is a newsworthy event for this small town, and if you are not a sewer you might have some heads up that there will be more traffic and less places to park in town during the two days this event was held.  I may have wanted to attend some of those classes, and although I have access to the Missouri Star Quilt website had not paid too much attention to events, but certainly would have if I had known about this one.

For a paper asking their readers to submit vacation photos and news I would have thought covering this event and maybe interviewing the professionals who attended would have been a no brainer.

Another question I have regarding the library coverage in the area:  why is there information regarding Penney library and Ray county but nothing about the Kingston library?

Just food for thought.
