Rita Louise (Elliot) Feil

Rita Louise (Elliott) Feil - age 92 of Warsaw, MO, and formerly a lifelong resident of Caldwell County, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Lincoln Community Care Center & Lakeside Suites in Lincoln, Missouri. Rita was born on January 15, 1933, the daughter of J.W. and Retha Blanch (Brelsford) Elliott in Hamilton, MO. She grew up mainly in the Cowgill area and was a graduate of Braymer High School. She married Wayne Edwin Feil Sr. on March 17th, 1952, at the Baptist Church Parsonage in Cowgill. Before becoming a full-time mom, homemaker and farm wife, she worked at the toy factory in Braymer and worked as a waitress. Rita was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Cowgill and had recently been a member of Lakeside Chapel Southern Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, often helping on the farm, and she liked to garden. Rita also loved to cook and fish. Some of her cherished memories included going on trips with family and cousins and helping with bible school at Cowgill Baptist Church. She loved all of her grandchildren and was a strong Christian woman. Rita will be dearly missed. 

 

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Retha Elliott; husband, Wayne Feil; sister, Luetta McFall and brother, Joe Elliott. She is survived by her children: Wayne Edwin Feil of Warsaw, MO, John Feil of Braymer, MO, Leonard Feil (Julie) of Cowgill, MO, James Feil (Britni) of Warsaw, MO, and Theresa Erskine (Will) of Richmond, MO; grandchildren: Cory, Tyler, Zachary, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Jenna, Aspen, Samantha, Alanna, and Gavin; one great-grandchild, Parker; sister, Colene Clark of Hamilton, MO; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Cowgill in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 7, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Cowgill. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, the evening prior at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. Burial will follow the funeral at Braymer Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, MO.
